Roasted Poblano Corn Soup at Kelvin, San Diego


You don't normally go to eat at a W Hotel expecting inspiration (that comes the design, the clientele, or the soundtrack). But at the W San Diego's modish b-l-d Kelvin, this Roasted Poblano Corn Soup, built on vegetable stock and rice flour (though there's some cream in it too) and finished with chives, a little chili oil and some popped kernels for fun texture is everything you could want in a savory bowl: just a bit of spice, chowdery texture, heartwarming grain. Perfect for Fall.
